Yılmaz, who popularized Anzer honey, was hosted by Haberal

Ishak Yılmaz, the president of Anzer SS, Anzer Çiçekli 1 Agricultural Development Cooperative, and an organic Anzer honey producer, who fights against the sales of fake Anzer honey, returned from Paris last month with an award. This time, he went to Ankara to present real Anzer honey and a Rize Spor jersey to Mehmet Haberal, a Turkish surgeon, academician, and founder of Başkent University, who performed Turkey's first organ transplant at Hacettepe Hospital on November 3, 1975, and is known for his love of Rize Spor.

Ishak Yılmaz stated, "The achievements of Professor Mehmet Haberal have always made us happy. I wished him continued success and a long, healthy life. He welcomed us with love and joy. We presented him with organic Anzer honey and, as he is a Rize Spor enthusiast, we also gave him a Rize Spor jersey."

What had happened: At the Paris International Honey Awards (PIHA) 2024, one of the world's most prestigious honey competitions held this year, Turkish beekeepers, with the support of APİMAYE, participated in the competition. After evaluations by a jury that included members of the Italian Agricultural Research and Economics Council (CREA), Ishak Yılmaz, with his Anzer honey, won the gold award.
